My Rollercoaster Journey

Hi Everyone

I'm back again,

I had planned on doing a weekly blog but life got crazy and that plan went out the window.

But I'm starting to dig myself out the weeds and I wanted to start this back up again.

So I thought I'd start off with a bit of a recap.

So in September when I started this I was overwhelmed with how busy I was. My plan was to start farming out certain tasks in my business that I either didn't like or wasn't very good at. My rationale was that paying people who are experts in those fields will be better for my business than me trying to figure it out.

This turned out for the most part to be a really bad idea! I spent a lot of money for a new website which was a huge mistake and I'm still trying to get my money back for that.

I changed shipping providers which has also been a very expensive mistake as I wasn't getting the service I paid for. Parcels weren't being scanned and the proof of deliveries were a joke. The fall out from that was that I almost lost my TikTok shop because it appeared to TikTok that I was constantly shipping orders late.

I'm still trying to recover from these 2 bad decisions and the lesson I've learned is DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!

If I could give anyone advice it would be to google anyone your thinking of working with and see what comes up, also ask the question. What if I'm not happy with your work? What is your refund policy. Where possible pay by PayPal or credit card so you have some protection.

While I had all this going on I had also started working on designing my own bear. I had wanted to design my own bear for a while. Mostly because I like to be unique and the mould for the courage bears I had been using was the same mould that a lot of people used, but also because I had ideas for bears that I couldn't do with the current mould.

After a lot of stress (which I'm saving for their own story) I was able to launch the new design of bears in Feb 2024.

As a small business owner you have to learn how to juggle because while all this was going on my business continued to grow I was so busy with sales throughout November and December and I sincerely want to thank everyone who has supported my business. I wouldn't be here without you.

Have a great easter everyone
